Here’s a revised version with the credits integrated smoothly and without shifting focus from the project itself:
The transformation of Royal Plaza, designed by Aedas and completed in May 2014, involved a five-storey façade upgrade along the main Scotts Road elevation, a new porte cochère, a new lift providing Level 2 access from street level, and upgraded entrance lobby and driveway works. Together, these interventions created a striking departure from the building’s previous appearance.
TCG delivered this technically demanding project while maintaining the hotel’s daily operations. Although the outcome is highly visible, much of the complexity lay behind the scenes. Substructure works included micro-piling to support the new façade and lift pit and shaft, all carried out in close proximity to the MRT reserve.
Interiors were completed with high-end finishes across the lobby, entrance, and porte cochère, including architecturally glazed lift shafts, marble floors and columns, and decorative plaster ceilings. The Level 2 porte cochère was further enhanced with a new timber deck to support outdoor dining. All images courtesy of Owen Raggett.
